My son and I have had sushi on both the east and west coast of the US and from various price ranges. Mikaku costs more than many of the places we have been. Dinner was about $12-20 per sushi plate and $22-30 for hot Japanese dishes. The cost is totally worth it!! The options are typical for a sushi/teriyaki restaurant. It's the quality of the ingredients and skill of the chef that makes all the difference. The rice is so light and fluffy, barely any residue left on your fingers, not clumpy. The wasabi dissolves almost instantly in the soy sauce, you don't have to stir it all up with globs of wasabi left floating. The seaweed is so soft it only takes a bite to get through it, not all chewy like most places where you have to eat a whole piece in one bite because you can't get through the seaweed. The fish practically melts in your mouth it is so fresh! Their sake is also some of the smoothest and flavorful I've ever had. By far the best sushi place we've ever been to in many states!!

Pretty good sushi, some interesting non-traditional rolls. Service was a bit rough, especially considering it really wasn't that busy when we went. But the food was pretty great!
